Privacy Policy
We believe your data is yours. Rasi & Rise collects the bare minimum needed to show you astrological timings, and nothing more.
Rasi & Rise is a one-person project; “we” below means that developer.
Effective 7 June 2026 · Last updated 17 October 2026The short version
- No user accounts or logins
- Birth details and location are not stored on our servers
- Privacy-friendly, cookieless analytics (OpenPanel): anonymous, aggregated events that never include your birth details, a chart link, or a token
- We never sell or share your data
Calculation data
Birth details, location, and timezone are sent to our servers to compute your results. This data is not stored, logged, or retained after the response is sent. Treat a chart link or token like the birth details themselves: anyone who has it can regenerate the chart. Cloudflare, our hosting provider, may log request metadata such as IP address and user agent (see Third-party services).
To save you typing, we estimate your approximate city from your IP address using our hosting provider's network location (Cloudflare). Your browser never asks for location permission. On the home page this estimate is pre-filled into the birth-city field, with a note to change it if you were born somewhere else, and is remembered in your browser as your current location (rr_location) for daily timings. On the calculator pages it is only offered as a "Born in …? Use this" suggestion that you can tap or ignore, and it is never saved. The estimate is not stored on our servers.
Local storage
Saved birth charts are stored in your browser's local storage as an encrypted token plus display details. They are sent to our server only when you open a reading, and are never stored there. The browser also keeps a small visit counter (rr_visit: the dates of your first and most recent visit and a visit count) so we can count returning visits in aggregate; it holds no birth details and never leaves the device except as the coarse buckets described below.
Cookies and analytics
We use OpenPanel, a privacy-friendly, open-source analytics tool, to see which features people use and how the site performs. It is cookieless and does not track you across other websites. We record anonymous events (for example, that a birth chart was generated, a step of the form was completed, or a date search failed) with only coarse properties: which page, which step or tab, whether a birth time or place was given (yes/no), bucketed counts such as "first visit" or "2–3 saved charts", and error kinds. The site removes any chart link or token from the address bar before analytics loads, so analytics never receive a chart link, a token, or your birth details, name, time, or location. We run no advertising scripts and never sell or share your data.
Third-party services
- Cloudflare for hosting and serverless compute (privacy policy). Cloudflare may log request metadata (IP, user agent) for security and performance, as is standard for any hosted site.
- Google Fonts for typography (privacy policy)
- OpenPanel for cookieless, privacy-friendly analytics (website)
